Humble writer Ramesh 'Kanwal' welcomes you to this website. I bid you a warm welcome (Isteqbal).
Before everything else—name, identity, and address—fades away, let me share a brief introduction. I, Ramesh Prasad, served as an officer in the Bihar Administrative Service until August 31, 2013, retiring from the level of Joint Secretary. I also held the post of ADM (Law & Order) in Patna for nearly three years. Today, I write and recite ghazals under the pen name 'Ramesh Kanwal'. A native speaker of Hindi and Bhojpuri, I am also well-versed in the Urdu language (including its script). In my earlier days, I wrote poetry under the names 'Kanwal' Shahabadi and Ramesh Prasad 'Kanwal'. While residing in Jagdal in the 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, I received guidance and corrections (islaah) on my poetry from Janab 'Wafa' Sikanderpuri.
My first collection of ghazals in Urdu, titled Lams Ka Suraj (The Sun of Touch), was published in 1997. In the same year, Meyar Publications published my first Hindi ghazal collection, Sawan Ka Kanwal. In 2016, Iram Publications, Patna, published my second Urdu ghazal collection under the title Rang-e-Hunar. My collections Shohrat Ki Dhoop (2013) and Sparsh Ki Chandni (2019) comprise my ghazals, songs, and poems. I have also compiled and edited several collections of ghazals, beginning with Aqidat Ke Phool (2020), dedicated as an offering to my master Janab 'Hafiz' Banarasi. This was followed by Numainda Ghazalein of 2020 (2021), Behtareen Ghazalein of the 21st Year of the 21st Century (2022), and Ek-Rukni Anauthi Ghazalein (2022).
My upcoming publications include Vandan! Shubh Abhivandan!!, a poetic endeavor dedicated to preserving, promoting, and celebrating Sanatan culture, and Amrit Mahotsav Ki Ghazalein, celebrating the 75th year of India's independence. My fourth collection of Hindi ghazals, titled Facebook Par Machalti Ghazalein, is also currently under publication.
My ghazals have also been featured in the following anthologies:
1. Rangarang Shayari (Editor – Prakash Pandit)
